1. Explore the Marketo Product Documentation
First things first, start to get familiarized with the Marketo basics by exploring the Marketo Product Documentation. This is your one-stop-shop for getting the download on all the product functionality, understanding Marketo terminology and icons and the quarterly release notes.
2. Attend Marketo’s Free Training
Did you know that Marketo has a huge library of free training to help new users better understand the core functionality? Once you’re ready to dive a bit further after exploring the Marketo Product Docs, move on to attending these free training sessions.
3. Engage with the Community
One of the biggest assets is the community that engages in knowing all-things Marketo. You can access this by logging into Marketo and selecting “Community” at the top right-hand corner.
The Community is a place where you can ask and answer questions with other Marketo users. You’ll likely also find users with similar business issues as you, so ask away! You’re bound to get ideas and answers to your questions.

4. Explore Marketo’s Four Main Areas of Navigation
Now that you’ve gotten acquainted with Marketo terms, maybe mingled with other Marketo users, you’re ready to head into Marketo. Marketo’s four main navigation areas include: Marketing Activities, Design Studio, Database, Analytics.
These are the areas where you’ll likely be living in Marketo, as these areas enable you to create all your workflows, processes, emails, forms, and everything in between.
5. Test the Core Marketo Concepts

The part where you actually start to make things happen in Marketo. Below are the six biggest areas where you’ll be working – but remember that there’s a lot more to Marketo. This is your best starting point though.
